I am on the market for a motorcycle and today i checked out a Suzuki SV650, however i could see there was a leak from a plastic container on the left side under the seat. It looked like the coolant, very minor leak. There was also a leak on the right, what looked like the fork seal. There is also a consistent vertical grain of a scratch all over the right side of the bike. he said it wasnt ever dropped, but it looks like the exhaust, the brake lever, the rear set, rear brake lever, and rear fender are scratched in similar places that suggest a lay down, maybe not moving?

But he had the bike up for $2500 2 weeks ago, and now he has it up for $2800. 17k miles, right fork seal is pretty bad lookin, he said chain and sprockets changed at 12k miles.

Bad idea? Im gonna run it by a mechanic and go from there, but it seems like a decent deal. Im just not as familiar with these modern bikes.

not too familiar with modern bikes either, but vertical scratches suggest a low speed drop. A drop from a standstill won't usually make scratches unless they're really short. a high speed drop will make more horizontal scratches, and a bike that's moving even relatively fast won't be able to drop straight over and make vertical scratches due to inertia. It was probably moving really slowly and so was able to drop straight over, but the momentum kept it sliding enough to make scratches
