Hello All,

I'm new to this site but so far I have found a wealth of information and great people. I hope to learn and contribute significantly.

Meanwhile, I just got an S83 2005 and was wondering if there were any repair manuals for this specific model.

Tried it. I can only seem to find other models or for the Intruder 1400 upto the year 2003. I'm not sure if there have been any significant mechanical changes since 2003 to 2005 but figured they changed the name maybe something else did too.

Try the suzuki website. I got a manual for my sweeties M-50 for $45 at the dealer. They had to order it.

They had an aftermarket Maurader manual in stock but the M-50 is a very different animal. Yours may be too. I don't know enough about your specific model. Get the real deal from Suzuki that's what the factory mechanics use.

I have an '05 S83. I bought the service manual from the dealer where I bought the bike. It covers all the S83 model years up thru 2007 and all the VS1400 models back to 1988. It looks like the majority of the bike hasn't changed. At the end of the book, there is an appendix for each model year that covers any differences for that particular year. The part number for the book is 99500-39159-03E.

I would be wary of any on ebay - if the published date is too old, your model year may not be in it.

The changes from the Intruder 1400 to the S83 were all cosmetic (bars, turn signals, sissy bar, emblems, that fake air cleaner tool box), with the exception of one electrical change- the S83 added 4-way flashers.
So any year manual will cover you 99.99% of the time.

Some of the newer ones also have that "flash to pass" button on the clutch side. Wish mine had it...I'd hide the garage door opener in the light bucket & wire that up to activate it. ;)
