2005 pontiac pursuit gas milage.?

its 10.3 litres per 100km on a 4cylinder?? reviews said it was like 26 city and 29 highway? shouldnt it be more? i feel like its wasting gas like a v6 suv!! do you thing its a problem? or because the fuel efficency wasnt a problem back in 2005
and i hardly puch the gas when im driving so wtf?
 
Back in the 1950's the jingle said, " Dollar for dollar, you can't beat a Pontiac". So keep adding the dollars to keep the Pontiac going. They were more performance engineered than the Chevys of the day, but that always came at a price of higher fuel consumption. Still, if you drive conservatively and keep the tires properly inflated your mileage shouldn't get worse than you quoted. 26/29 is OK for a Pontiac. Either you want economy or performance with an American car.
