2005 Kawasaki Ninja EX500 coolant problem?

bike was ridden for a while with the choke open when came to stop light started smoking from coolant running out drain hole on side of engine when bike is running coolant pours out hole on right side of engine case but not left and idles extremely rough any suggestions would be appreciated trying to fix wifes bike
