Hi, I am replacing my 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250r engine with a brand new one. I am no mechanic and don’t want to damage the bike in the process. I have all the bike’s side paneling off ,all I have to do is remove the old engine, what precautions / preparations should I take before the engine comes out? Like what fluid lines should I clamp? do I need to take the radiator off and replace coolant after I get the new engine in? Do I need to drain the engine oil before I remove it? Do I need to remove the chain, Gas tank, exhaust ext...?

I would not attempt this without a service manual.

Haynes sells a manual for this bike for $42.45 + shipping. It will have step by step instructions on how to install a new motor. $42.45 is a lot cheaper than paying a mechanic to sort out any mistakes you may make.
