I have a 2005 Honda Civic LX with about 87,000 miles on it. I've been driving it for 2 years now, it's been a great car.
Up until about 2 months ago I was getting between 36 to 38 MPG like clockwork. I would get about 375-390 miles per tank.
In November I bought new tires, the ones I had on it were OEM, and I replaced them with Michelins of the same size. So yeah, ever since I got the new tires I've only been getting about 330 miles per tank, about 31-32 MPG.
So my question is, is it the new tires that have contributed to the loss in MPG? Should I have the balanced checked? Could it be something else? What do you all think?
Thanks for the answers so far, note: I keep the pressure at 40 PSI all around. I check the pressure about every other fill up and haven't had any issues.
