2005 ford f-150 fx4 a hissing noise?

2005 ford f-150 fx4 with 60,000 miles a hissing noise stared today around 45 to 50 mph, and continues until i come to a stop then there is a popping sound like gear and popping back into place, and the gear popping back into place noise seems to be coming from the left front wheel,

also the 4x4 stoped working, i dont know if this was conected or just happend by chance at the same time?

ideas?
