2005 Chevy Surburban ran out of gas, now it won't start?

My wife ran our Suburban out of gas. I put in about 4 to 5 gallons and tried to restart, no luck. The pump sounds like it is working. I pressed the schrader valve on the fuel line and gas came out, it kind of "coughed" out though. It did not spray under high pressure. The car tries to turn over and comes close, but it doesn't start.

Any ideas?

You should be able to turn the key off & on about 3 - 4 times before you try to start the engine, this will prime the line back up ,you might need to replace the fuel filter,it could have gotten trash into the fuel filter causing it to be clogged up.
