Im 16 years old and im in love with the 2005 Cadillac but im seeing them around 10 - 16 grand i was wondering if i put down 8grand Would that be a reasonible offer and also what kind of gas would i put into it and Are there more reliable then The Mustangs, Chargers and Camaros

First of all your 16, you don't want a Cadillac. Caddy's are for old men in Florida who wear pants up to their nipples and drive around all day with the left turn signal blinking. Another thing, the CTS is not a good car. They are known for having transmission troubles, and replacing a transmission on a CTS will cost you around $4000! Also they are not fast cars (except the CTS-V) Don't be surprised to see a Toyota Camry V6 beat you at a redlight drag race. The Camry has 270hp and is a bit lighter. Also lets talk about the Cadillac brand itself. Its a joke, I travel to Europe and Asia many times and I never see Cadillacs over there because they are considered a joke and people there would be embarrased to drive one. Theres a reason why Mercedes, BMW, Honda are seen on streets all over the world, because of respect for the brand. If you buy a Cadillac, your going to be getting a below average care with horrible resale value. When your ready to sell it, you will be shocked at how little money you can get for it.

The 1st person clearly has a biased opinion on domestic made cars. As a first car the CTS would be a fine choice. $8K is good, but as a minor you cannot take out a loan. Your parents will. State laws prohibit a minor from owning & insuring a car. As long as the caddy is in good shape mechanically, you'll do fine. It should use regular 87 octane fuel. The 3.6L that yr was nothing really special. The Buick LaCrosse CXS used the same motor that yr too, but it was fwd. It made a respectable amount of hp & still got 28 mpg on the hwy. All cars are reliable. It always depends on the owner. Take care of it or don't.
