2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX?

I have a 2004 pontiac grand prix gt2 and im hating it more and more each day. I went to start my car and it wont start, on my EVIC it tells me "System charging failure" I have no idea what in gods name is wrong with it. Not to mention it dies randomly too...... I have to charge my battery in order for it to start but i have no idea why it is getting drained. I had my friend test my battery and it read at like 9.2 or somethin like that. any suggestions to the problem? Bad battery? bad alternator?
 
dont hate the potniac grand prix, it's a good car.

it's just having some charging issues.

change the alternator and battery (if it's still good)

too many jumps will kill the battery.

check the belt that the alternator is on.

it def sounds like the alternator.
