What do you think about your truck? What are its pros, cons, and things I should know about it? I just bought a 2004 FX4 and am looking for both what I can look forward to and some potential common problems that may arise with ownership. I'll only pick answers that are logical, well thought out, and helpful; no stupid comments such as "Ford Sucks," etc.

I have a 2005 King Ranch. I've not had any problems at all with mine. The mileage is something like 12.5 running empty and taking short trips. Mine has the 3 valve 5.4 engine. It has all the options and runs like a dream.

I'm very pleased with it and it is the 3rd F-150 that I've had and by far the best.

I understand the new ones are even better than the ones that we have.

good luck and enjoy your truck.

I have an 07 F150 XL short bed standard cab with the 4.6 2 valve motor, and I love this truck. In town I get between 13 and 14 mpg, and on the freeway I get about 21 mpg (19 with the a/c on). I have only had it about 6 months, but to date the truck has had 0 problems. I tow my fishing boat and haul my 1,100 pound slide in camper with no problems. The motor isn't too strained, and it's never ran out of breath on me. It has a 1928 lb payload so I'm always way under my limit. All in all I would say it is a very nice truck. Way more power than the 4.8 chevy or 4.7 dodge I test drove before buying this one. (Sorry chevy and dodge guys, they are also nice trucks). All in all I would say it needed a little more quality control (squeaks & rattles) but is a nice truck at a great price.

my step dad has a 2006 its a good truck but from what i understand there was a recall on the lifters in the motor so ford had givein him a 100k mile warranty for that anyways i found a website that has all the recalls for the 2004 ford F150.
