2004 Honda CRF250F Dirtbike wont kickstart, but starts when roll started.?

I have a honda crf250f and I couldn't get it to start, so my friend drained the gas out of the carb. Then we pop started it and it started and ran fine. It would kick over and start when hot. But when i went to kick it when it was cold, it would not start. Any Help?
 
Possibly a fouled spark plug.
Cranking the engine with just the kick start won't turn the engine fast enough for a semi-fouled plug to start the engine.
"Pop starting" it will get the piston moving faster and longer, then just a couple of revolutions with the kickstart lever.
 
try turnning the fuel off right before you shut it down so that there is less gas in carb is what it sounds like its b getting to mucj gas or spark plug about bad could also be the air filter dirty
