I recently purchased a 2004 Ford Mustang v-6 with 5-speed manual transmission and 93,000 on the speedometer. I have noticed there is a loud squeaking noise coming from what seems like the rear end of the car. I can only describe the sound as bird-like chirping. The sound only happens while moving and it doesn't matter if I'm braking, accelerating, in gear or in neutral. As long as I'm moving at any speed you can hear the squeaking/chirping.
I have had the U-joint replaced on my Ford truck when it was making a similar sound.
I have read that if the suspension is bad you can shake the rear and it would make the same sound. Tried that and the car made no sound. Should I jack up the car and run it to see if I get the same sound?
Thank you in advance.
