i just had a tune up done by a mechanic shop... but i had this prblem Before the tune up.. its a electric start. so you just turn the key and let go it starts by its self...
but every once in a while... it will try to crank then stall.. so i have to turn the key again and pres on the gas to rev it for it to start..
any ideas what it could be????

Read the "GM Litigation" web-sites first. Watch your coolant level. You just might have bad intake manifold gasket. Also realize that the "gas" pedal on fuel injected cars is really the "air" pedal. Therefore, have your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE cleaned out, as well as your throttle body. Have engine scanned for any other bad sensors FREE at Auto Zone. Good luck!! FOr best power and MPG's, install a set of Bosch Platinum, Fusion, or Denso Iridium plugs. You will be AMAZED at the difference over the factory junk ones!!

When you start the engine cold, try turning the key to "on" (not "start") for 5 seconds and off for 5 seconds three times in a row before actually turning the key to "start" to start the engine. If that solves the problem, tell your automotive shop technician what you did and he will do a fuel pressure "leak down" test on your fuel pump to see why it's not priming your fuel system properly.
Cold start problems can also be due to a bad Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor because the air/fuel has to be enriched to start a cold engine.
