My blazer:
04, 85,000 miles, LS, 2WD, Power dl, windows, CD, maroon, automatic, rear fold down seats, dome over ride, new tires, good condition.

05 Cobalt:
SALVAGE title, LS, black Leather, onstar, CD, pioneer system, 44,000 miles, keyless entry, power doors & windows.
looks like it's in good condition.

Basically would that be a fair trade?

Flanders is right, once you get a salvage car it is hard to maintain of the hidden problems it has, i've herd that cars have been moved when hurricane katrina passed in Louisiana, those cars have been 'fixed' and are 'ready' to go. I wouldn't trade.

No.
Vehicles with salvaged titles are never in good condition.
They are a headache and worth about 1/2 of what the same model in good condition.

The person with the Cobalt is willing to accept your higher mileage vehicle because he probably wants to dump his problem car on you. Why else would he get rid of it if it was so 'nice'?

You probably won't even be able to find insurance for a vehicle with a salvaged title, as it has already been declared a total loss.
In addition to that, it likely isn't a safe vehicle.

Keep your Blazer. You know what you have and aren't, potentially, getting someone else's problem.
