The year 2004... filled with all sorts of good things, yet, it seems, the bad things always outweigh the good things.
As a few of you know, I went to Surrey, British Columbia to work. It was an... experience, one might say. But, like everything, it had its ups and downs.
I left on on April 23, 2004, at 7:30 AM and arrived on April 23, 2004 at 7:30 PM.
Everything was good. I enjoyed the job somewhat, though it only paid 12 bucks CDN an hour. I had a good place to stay. 350 bucks a month, included food and everything.
It was about June when I started talking to a certain member of this site, who shall go un-named for privacy reasons
. We talked, got to know each other quite well, and so we got into an online relationship. Yeah, most of you would roll your eyes, and say "how lame, get a real g/f, whatever, blah blah blah." But I'm a loser, remember?
Anyway, things were going great... sort of. I was 1000 miles from my family, but they came down to visit me. Plus, my brother lives in that area. So, we'd hang around on weekends when neither of us was working.
Nothing too eventful there. I went home for the holidays in August... was home for a week, then returned to Surrey. I had a 1986 Toyota Celica, which i had for a month before coming home for the holidays. 2 weeks later, my car was stolen. It had about 40 CD's in it, along with other things. Doors were locked, it had an anti-theft club on it, which the thieves just bent and took off. I got 1200 bucks for it.
So, being the rich bastard i was at the time (yeah, right)... I bought another car, which I still have. October 30, 2004 was the day I was going to drive home. But, the night before, as I was loading stuff into my car, Derek (the guy I was staying with) pointed out that i had a flat tire. Oh great. I drove over a nail.
So, the next morning, he brought me to Kal Tire to get it patched.
Anticipated time of departure: 7:30 AM
Actual time of departure: 9:30 AM.
On the way home, I drove through various kinds of weather. One moment it would be a blizzard, the next it would be a rainstorm, then hail, then fog, then sun. It was fucked up.
But, I made it home safely. 9:30 PM.
On November 1, two days after I got back home, my older brother got an apartment in town... so I got his bedroom.
Dad's birthday was November 29. About 3 days after, he left. Well, i guess "left" isn't exactly the correct word. But, he's no longer living at home. It was a lousy chrstmas.
What made it worse, was that the one person I could share anything with, the aforementioned wtf.comer... well, we haven't been talking as much since I got back home. Not even a week after christmas, we decided it wasn't going to work out.
But, that's the way the ball bounces.
I can only hope 2005 will be better than this year.
