2003 Toyota Celica check engine light with cold air intake?

i have had a 2003 celica with a cold air intake installed for a while which trigger the check engine light to come on. This is my second celica, and i have always been told this is normal. However, i am trying to sell this one and would like to be able to explain why the check light engine comes on when you install a cold air intake.

Any help or websites i could reference would be greatly appreciated.
