Okay, I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. It has 170,000 miles on it. I just put new tires on it within the last 6 months. I have had the rims checked. 2 needed replaced so I have replaced them. Transmission is fine and fluid looks good. Change oil every 3 to 5k miles. Air filter great. All fluids passed.
Okay, here is my problem. When I go down the road the car makes a loud sound that comes from the front. Maybe the wheels? IDK???
Anyways to be frank it sounds like a darn jet taking off. I have no clue what it can be. Wheels look great. Tread good. Rims fine. No odd vibrations. Car accelerates fine and shifts great.
Why when i am going down the road it sounds like a jet or like the tires rubbing the road?
I heard this car has bad insulation but surely something can be done to fix or lessen this horrible sound. Engine looks great.
Any ideas? Anyone with the exact same problem with their Vibe or Matrix.
I would really like to know something. I have no money to get it checked out.
Some people say the bearings but this cant be that. Wouldn't it make a really bad noise other than a constant jet noise?
