2003 Pontiac Sunfire knock I cant figure out..?

I have a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.2l ecotec engine. Its DOHC and there 86000mi on it. Two weeks ago I pulled out infront of an 18 wheeler on accident so I floor it to get out of the way..anyways, 5 mins later when I stopped that the gas station I heard a little knock coming from under the hood. I thought it could've been a lifter, turns out my engine doesnt have lifters, it has roller-rockers. I brought it to a technician and he said its the timing chain. I went and bought the whole timing chain kit from Advance Auto for $180, did all that work, replaced it all. I started it up today for the 1st time and it now makes the same noise and another smaller rattle sound. When it idles its a slow knock, than as I accelerate it gets faster than goes away. Does anyone have any clues to what this could be? Im, stumped and its my only transportation. Thanks!

Dumb question before I get to your problem, If you are Mopar4ever why are driving a Pontiac?

Are you sure that the noise is going away when you get up to speed or is it being masked by road noise and things like that? I would get a stethoscope and start the car and see if you can pin point the sound that way. Sadly the ecotec motors can not take to much abuse. They have weak lower ends. I would start it and run it up to about 1500rpm's and see it the noise is still there and try to find it with the stethoscope. Good luck, make sure you listen don near the crank. My son's made small noises just before he spun a main bearing.
