I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE, 2.2L car. It does not want to start when it is cold out but the odd time it starts right up.
I recently just replaced the Idle Air Control Valve(IAC) and it still does not want to start up properly but it eventually will.
When it starts sometimes but not always it will idle around 1500 and not drop for a while and when it does it jumps quite a bit until it finally sets.

Any ideas what else could be wrong?

OK sounds like you need to 1 do a tune up if you have done one yet new spark plugs will burn the fuel better and faster a start up, fuel filter will also help... also check your battery make sure its a full charge.
If you just change the IAC remove the positive battery post and wait 5 min. and replace and this will rest set the ECU ..and the car will re-learn the placement of the IAC..
