the car has been maintained poorly and is not starting, it has around 100k miles. it is turning over and sounds like it is going to start but doesn't. i tried starter fluid, battery, and even pulled the spark plugs to see if they were good.(they were) I'm not sure where else to look. it might be a fuel pump problem but im not to sure... any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes you're right....it sounds like a clogged fuel pump so you may need to replace it and drain the fuel out and replace with new gas.

try running a fuel pump pressure test on it and see what the actual amount of fuel pressure is,also check the plugs for fire when the engine is turned over if its getting fire it should have started when you used starting fluid with it,good luck.
