2003 Chevrolet Avalanche traction activation?

intermittently stalls and the traction activation light comes on. The motor doesn't quit it simply stalls and there is no forward motion power for a mere moment
theres no snow it just does it whenever. theres nothing for it to be cutting out nothing for it to slip or anything
 
The traction control cuts out your engine power briefly to limit wheel spin in slippery conditions. That is the purpose, its doing what it was designed to do. Get snow tires if you want more traction.
If there is no reason for it to come on, then its faulty, needs to be diagnosed and repaired.
