minutes, (more).....? I notice the tranny doesn't seem to want to catch the second gear. If I lay off the gas, she'll slip right in, but if I keep the accelerator down, she'll just rev the rpms past 5500 rpm and then smoothly catch although I don't like doing that. The only other time I feel it doing this is with rapid acceleration after a stop.
I took her in to a garage I've been using for years and the guy said it likely does not need a r/b trans ... something about maybe needing a solenoid (?) on the second gear. (Obviously, I don't know much about cars). Her doesn't do that work and gave me the name of some other place that specializes in fixing parts of the transmission and told me most places will just want to put in a re-built trans b/c it's easier (and more profitable) for them. I had an issue with the cat-converter a few months back and an oxygen sensor which was fixed (or so I was told).
Any suggestions on this aside from getting it checked again by AAMCO, etc?!
