I'm not really the automotive type at all, but here is a what I expect to be a simple situation for someone who is...Thanks in advance for your help...

I'm the owner of an 02 Landcruiser with 142K miles...No real problems ever...

Recently the headlight (drivers side, main lamp) went out...I went to replace the light with a friend and noticed before unattaching the previous, that it didn't appear to be burnt out...Nonetheless, it wasn't coming on so I assumed that it was...After purchasing the new headlight I found that the physical light bulb in fact WAS NOT the problem --- as it still wouldn't come on...

What am I looking at here ? Is this a simple fuse ? Is it a deeper electrical problem ? How can I diagnose this, and what is the best course of action to getting it resolved without paying a lot of money to a body shop ?
