2002 Monte Carlo SS or 2001 Toyota Avalon xls?

Hello I have narrowed down my car search to two selctions... A 2002 Monte Carlo SS (cloth seats) from a private seller w/87k miles at $5,800 and a 2001 Toyota avalon xls (luxury leather seats, etc.) from a dealership w/92k miles at 8,995.. What I'm lookin for is a car to last me the whole 5 years that I have my loan out for without a lot of expensive repairs and I also want to get the best deal..I know that the monte carlo has it's transmission flushed, on time oil changes, belts replaced, etc. but I really don't know how well the avalon was taken care of because I never asked... which would be a better buy for me?...thx
 
the toyota is the one you want.

If your looking for a reliable car that will last you that 5 years, and way beyond that, no GM vehicle is for you. toyota's hold their value excellently and seem to run forever. In your case, it's the more expensive choice but will definitely save you money in the long run on repairs. I can assure you you will run into problems with the monte carlo, please buy the toyota
