2002 Ford F-150 shut down, theft light blinking and wont start. why?

I started the truck and a couple seconds later it just died and the odometer read dashes(- - - - - ) instead of the mileage and the theft light was blinking and the alarm went off and im unable to stop the theft light from blinking and the car will not start, what is the problem? thanks
