2002 Dodge Caravan.....doesnt want to go into gear when it is cold out?

2002 Dodge Caravan......I let the car warm up in the morning as I live in the northeast. Doesnt like to go into gear when you first put it in drive. After it gets running and really warmed up it will go into gear. It is almost like it is just in neutral at first. Could this be low transmission fluid or motor oil? Please advise as I dont have the $$$ to put it in the shop right now. Thanks.
 
drain and replace transmission fluild and filter might save it just to let you know dodges bad on transmission ive been driving 40 yrs they never been great
and i have canavan park in front with transmission out has we speak

best advice get it to a trans shop hav eit look after now before its too late
