who has a aftermarket stereo installed in their 2002 alero?
what problems have you had with your car since the stereo install ? is it less complicated to install a stereo
in other cars ?do you install car stereos in all cars the same way?
whats the difference in installing a stereo in a 2009 camaro and a 2002 alero what is the purpose of anit theft
device? why did oldsmobile put this device in the alero
it sounds as though it conflicts with the aftermarket stereo
install how do you bypass the anti theft device?

1: i dont

#2: i dunno

# 3: stereo installs range from car to car, most cars are easy, although some newer cars are a pain

#4: well you kind of do. the only difference with some cars is that the factory came with some features(like onStar) that have to be retained. to alleviate this, you need to buy a module. if the car is computerized in the back of the radio, again, you need a module to make it simpler or in some cases, possible. in essence, most older cars are relatively similar in electronics but the newer ones will pose unique problems.

#5: i worked on an older alero and it was nothing special, have not worked on newer ones yet

#6: purpose of anti theft device is in its name, to prevent your car from being hacked or "hot wired" to induce a fake signal that the key connected the internal circuit to start

#7: probably to make your insurance rates cheaper and most cars were doing it, so to be competitive in quality and safety, they did it. the theft systems (most of them) dont interfere with the installation. unless however down the road you wanted to sell your car and reinstall the old radio, there might be a code the radio needs to accept in order for it to work. if this is the case, contact the dealer for technical support

#8: bypasses ones meant for the radio might need a module (rare though). however for a remote car starter system or an alarm system, getting the ignition wires will differ. some might have something called "passlock" where resistances are on the wires to prevent theft and some use a transponder key system where the RF (radio frequency) of a passive or an active RFID system must be present for the car to engage to drive.

best i can do. car questions are usually more specific if not aftermarket system. best of luck!
