2001 Toyota Prius, MIL (check engine light) went on. Any ideas what it could be?

I have a 2001 Toyota Prius. I am over 100k and the warranty has expired. Today as I was driving home, the check engine (Malfunction Indicator Light) light came on. The car still drives fine. I am taking it to a mechanic in the morning but I was wondering if there is some malfunction that is common among first generation priuses.
 
It is one of a hundred problems that all cause the light to come on. Without more information it is impossible to tell.
