2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Repetitive Knock When I first turn on...?

So out of nowhere my 2001 pontiac grand prix SE has started a repetitive knock when I first turn it on. Its fairly loud and kind of worries me. Once my car warms up a little bit and I drive it goes a way. My car still drives like normal. Ive been told my oil pump might be going bad? What do you think?
