Sounds like it starts when it wants to, or, almost. Electrical connections, fuses, even a chip if it unudated with computer parts.
I think you can go to the mechanic and get it plugged in to the diagnostic computer for, maybe 80 bux. Call, find out and see what they say. Get out the manual and see if there are any timed cut off switches that disable fireing up the engine. Is it flooded ? That might shut off the gas pump. and then check for the wires that are necessary for firing up the engine.
If the gas pump runs at auxilary, check other auxilary components, and see if they are all working. Even check and make sure the fuse and the circuit to the pump is good. If the pump isn;t wroking right, it might be on a delay switch, which might be timed to reset.
