i am so frustrated. i can't even get the bike to start up.
Can anyone help me out ??
i left the bike outside for a week. and for 2 days it rained periodically. with a large trash bag, I covered the dash including the electrical connectors around the dash and handle bars. I thought the trash bag would help out while it rained... i'm not sure if it did.
now it won't start.....
I put the key in and set it to "on". Then i turned on the red ignition button.
I kicked up the kickstand
I made sure the fuel switch was set to "on" and I also added more gas to the tank. Then over the past few days of letting the bike sit, a lot of gas leaked out onto the painted pavement... now the paint is peeling off the pavement.
i tried rolling the bike a few feet forward and a few feet back to get the fluids circulating.
I had the battery charged up overnight at advance auto parts.
When i tried starting it, the headlight came on
I tried starting it a few times with the choke on fully, and then with the choke on midway and then with the choke off.
I thought maybe i flooded the engine, so i tried starting the bike up with the throttle in midway (as the user manual says to)
I made sure i waited a few seconds between starts
it sounded like it was beginning to start, because it would crank up and make a putting sound-- like it was trying to start up
Then i started it and heard a loud thump and click. and something below the seat started to smoke a little. It wasn't the battery. it came out through the 2 large holes in front of the battery. just a little smoke, as if someone lit a cigarette and let it sit.
i'm wondering if i fried the starter
then i removed the battery and went back inside the house. I uploaded some pics and a video.
