While I drive my jeep all is well, but when i stop at a light or sit in traffice my temp runs up to red if too long. As well, my ac gets hot while i idle but is fine while driving. what could this be?
No clutch. Fan is electric. Park in driveway. open hood, start engine. Turn a/c on. If fan does not start you have a problem. Could be a number of things. need to diagnose fan circuit

spray out the radiator, check the fan clutch, check the coolant levels. I don't think a thermostat would be to blame because it stays cool when you are moving.
