I had the water pump replaced on my xj, and now the belt squeaks until the engine gets to ~190-200 then its fine. I assume the thermostat opens then, and then the water pump has no back pressure and can turn freely, but shouldn't it have a clutch or something to allow the pulley to spin when the t-stat is closed? Ideas? Also, the electric fan doesn't seem to come on even with the temp showing 215.
