2001 Honda Civic won't start and doesn't have any power at all...?

I drove it home after work, parked it and set the alarm. The next morning I noticed the alarm on my key chain didn't work. So I just manually unlocked the door expecting the alarm to go off on the car but it didn't. I tried to start the car and nothing happened, not a sound. We hooked it up to a brand new battery and still not a sound, light, nothing... It has to be a short some where but don't know where to start...
 
Should have had your old battery tested first. Is free at any auto zone or kragen etc. Make sure all cable connection are clean and shiny, use a wire brush to make sure you have a good connection. Could be the switch or the starter, hard to say with out doing some tests.
