2001 Ford Taurus for $2690, good deal?

Is a 2001 Ford Taurus for $2690 a good deal? The car runs great, has been well maintained, garage kept, 153K miles. When do the motors start to go in these cars? I need a car that will get me back and forth from TN to DE.
 
Motors don't just start to go.

They're just machines. They are only as reliable as the owner.

So, if you have a poor owner, the car could die at 3,000 miles.

A good owner, who maintains it well, and it will last to 500,000+ miles.

I wouldn't buy it, unless you want a car that's worth basically nothing within a year or two.

Also, garage kept is pretty pointless. All that means, is they parked in a garage. So what?
