Ok...I have an 01 Escape and one day with no warning I got in my car and it would not engage in drive, but it engages in every other gear just fine...it will eventually engage in drive after reving the engine a little bit.... so I took it to AAMCO to have them diagnose it and they said it has internal failure and I need a new trans....but before I make the plunge and buy a new trans, has anyone else had this problem?....could this be a simple problem with the solenoid block or PCM?
