2001 Ducati MH 900E: anyone own one?

I just saw one of the Ducati MH 900Es that were produced in 2001. Apparently only 500 of the 2000 made were available here in the US, and the bike reportedly sold out in 72 hours. It looks INCREDIBLE and is for sale, on consignment, at a dealership near me.

The bike is beckoning me to give it a good home. However, being such a limited-production bike, I have not been able to find a lot of information about it online, other than that there was a recall on it regarding possible fuel leakage from the fuel pump flange.

Has anyone owned this bike, or know anything about it? Like I said, the bike is visually stunning, but I would really like to know more about it, including how much people are paying for it. (I belive they sold for $12k new in 2001.) Any information about the bike would be appreciated.
 
i've been looking to buy one for a while now. tried to get a couple on ebay but either lost or they wanted to much. haven't seen any at any local dealers.
 
I know a couple of people who have these. Beautiful machines. However, if you are getting this bike to actually ride, be aware that it is a torture rack and handles pretty poorly. I know because I rode it and am also looking to get one (artwork for the man castle!!).

you can get them readily for around 12k (they sold for 14k originally). From time to time they come up with nearly 0 miles.

Story from my Duc mechanic at the time.

The Lamborgini dealer in Toronto ordered one when they were first released, and requested it delivered with no fluids in it, it was to be a centerpiece in his office. Fast forward five years and the Lambo dealer is now Toronto Ducati (I think it has a longer name than that). I browsed the showroom when I was considering my 1098 and the MH 900 was sitting in an office I passed upstairs. That should be one with ZERO miles.
 
Wow, thanks Raptuous. I will have to check with the dealer in Tornoto to see if he/she is willing to part with the office centerpiece.
