I just purchased the stratus. I love the car and it came with the infinity sound system. I knew that I was gonna update my old P.O.S. to something, but I didn't know I was going to get a nice stock system with the car. Anyway two weeks before I purchased the car I purchased two 10" JL's already in a box with a 1400 watt Pyramid amp, and some type of booster (not so sure on that one, it looks like a tiny NOS canister). I got it for 50 dollars, so hopefully its worth the buy. Now for the hard part. I barely know anything about this stuff, and I don't wanna pay money to install it, plus everyone I know said not to have someone "professionally" install it because they don't do such a "professional" job. So can any one explain to me how to install all of it in a simple manor, that would be able to hide the wires, and not harm anything on the car. Also I can take pictures of the set and wires if that helps you. Thanks.

you need an amp power, ground, and tiny little remote wire. You can buy an amp installation kit from ebay, your local stereo shop, or even walmart. You run your power wire from your battery, through a grommet or hole in your firewall, ideally under your carpet, and to your amp (wherever it is that you want your amp to be, but dont connect it yet!!!).

Next, after youre set with where you want your amp located, you find yourself a nice screw that is secured to the body of your car or some metal surface and connect your ground wire from your amp to this screw. Metal screw, metal washer touching your ground wire, which is screwed into the metal car body somewhere. if there is paint on the screw, washer, or car body, try to scrape some off so its metal to metal. That will ground your amp. This ground wire is very important, so dont skimp on it or you might get a whining noise in your speakers.

Finally, run your remote wire (usually a really skinny wire) from your amp, to your radio. This wire is what tells the amp to turn on when the radio turns on, usually when you turn the car on.

Since you have your amp hooked up to your subs, all you need is to connect your RCA wires from your amp to your radio. If you are using a stock radio, you need "line out converters" so you can connect a non-stock amp to your stock radio. Again you'll probably want to run your rca wires away from your power wires to reduce noise. Sometimes running the wires under the door sill plastic part works very well to mask and protect wires. Connect all wires, turn car on, turn up stereo.

Should take a good afternoon. Ask a friend for help. Connect power cable to battery last to make sure you dont blow your amp if you make a mistake.
