My boyfriend's Durango is making a humming/roaring noise when he's driving. No noise while it's idling or in park, but when he accelerates, and gets up to 20-30 mph, it starts making the humming/roaring noise and doesn't stop until he gets around 70 on the highway, unless the road noise just covers it up. What could cause this and would it possibly be a costly fix?
I forgot to mention, the noise gets louder when he releases pressure from the gas pedal. It sounds like it's groaning as the speed comes down and the RPM's are always normal and it doesn't overheat.
