my 2001 dodge dakota has just started shifting very hard from first to second at 45mph sounds like its going to blow up, I did notice in the winter this happened a few times and if I stopped and turned off ignition and restarted it shifted fine, so I figured it was the cold weather, well I was wrong, but I can still manage to get it to shift normal again if I pull over turn off ignition restart and it shifts fine again, don't know much but sounds like its electrical, but this morning I did receive an engine light and read i can get this by turning key on/off three time and look at mile gage, the filter and fluid were changed at 70,000 and it has 147,000 now, do you think its just a fluid and filter I need?
