need help someone PLEASE. Thanks? I have been experiencing this problem for a few months...The car all of a sudden stopped shifting gears and the rpm meter redlines the faster i am going...i rarely go faster than 45mph so the rpm meter doesn't shoot pass 5000, but 5000 rpms at 45mph is definitely a problem. I got a diagnostic check and it had error codes that referred to 2nd & 3rd gear ratio...another referred to trans speed sensor (which i replaced BOTH input and output and still have the problem)...there are no noticeable noises in the engine...i went to a mechanic and he said the engine is locked in 2nd gear and it could be possible that the solenoid needs replacement but he was charging me through the roof...I have to take a trip at the end of the month and i am in desperate need to get this problem fixed ASAP...Can someone please tell me anything..i would so greatly appreciate it..thank you sooo much.
