That's a lot of miles for a GM engine; you can plan on putting a lot of money into keeping it running properly in the future. That's also not a very high performance engine, especially given the weight of the car.
But, the 01 Camaro has the plastic body panels, meaning that rust is less of an issue than for many other cars that are that old. And they look nice and have decent fuel efficiency.
If it was in really good condition, $3,400 might be reasonable. Just know that your cost of ownership will be higher than on a lot of other cars.
