2001 Buick Regal LS, key sticks in the tumbler every now and then.?

some times we can get it out by moving the steering wheel, or moving the car up and down the driveway.

It has the "chip" in the key.
I looked at the column, and all I could see was something electronic sitting under the key tumbler. What is this called and how much am I looking at...?
