My first suspects are dirty battery cables. Remove them and clean them at BOTH ends, to make sure there are no voltage drops. Replace them with new ones if they are too far gone. Never rely on replacement battery terminals. They always collect corrosion underneath in time. Good Luck!!

I don't know much about cars, but I have been reading up on an issue our car is having. Doesn't want to start. Clicks once then nothing. Takes 7-8 tries to get it to start.

We have the alternator and battery tested. They were fine. We had the starter tested, it tested fine. We were told it could be the solenoid. Is that in the starter or a separate piece?

Before you go buying a new starter, try removing both battery cables at both ends, and the one r two small wires at the solenoid (yes it's at the starter), clean them shiny and reinstall...corrosion on connections is the number 1 cause of starting problems...

Good luck, and DON'T reconnect the battery until all wires are tight on the starter!!!
