2000 Mitsubishi Galant, Stereo Looks Like It Works But No Sound?

The Stereo in my car was locked, it said "CODE" I was able to find the security code, input it and the radio display came back. But I get no sound. I turned the volume knob all the way in either direction without any luck. The Stereo seems to be working, the CD shows that is playing. But like I said NO SOUND! What can I do to fix it?!

I would value any suggestions... I can't drive in silence, it is deafening
