i just installed a alpine head unit in my 2000 mazda protege dx. the unit powers on and does all it should except sound. i have zero sound comming through the speakers. i have check and rechecked all wiring. my wiring is correct and have good connections. my main issue is that the person i bought the car from cut his old stereo out, so i am hardwiring this new stereo in. out of all the wires from the car, all have been accounted for except 1 yellow wire that i cannot find a home for. and on the aftermarket harness the power antenna wire -blue and white- ( i think the yellow wire is for my power antenna but not 100% sure) and the remote wire - blue - are not connected to anything. any ideas? im in need of some help. thanks in advance.
and i do not beleive there is a amplifier in the vehicle. but could be wrong
oh i just found out that when the yellow wire is connected to 12v all the dash lights etc.. turn on. so would that be the illumination wire? if so what would the green/black wire be for?
