2000 Mazda MPV XL -check engine light always coming on?

Want to know if other Mazda owners can tell me if check engine light comes on for trivia
 
It will come on at 80.000 miles to say replace the O-2 sensor. I tested mine at both 80 and 160K and it is still working fine so I never replaced it and it now has 170.000 and runs fine, still gets great gas mileage. Did you pull the inst. cluster and hit your re-set button?
And it will come on for many other reasons as needed for the sensor monitors.
How did I do Teacher?
 
before all else go to your fuel filler cap - if a screw on -screw till it clicks 3 times - if other type chk the seal as the above is a very common cause of this little *%#! light.
If you have an auto zone near you they do a free check & tell you the problem - Yes Free.
 
usually with mazdas it comes on for an o2 sensor or a defected cataltyic convertor so just go get it diagnosed im pretty sure thats why it came on good luck :)
