When I go to start my car the car makes a clicking sound and I have to keep tapping the key for it to start. Sometimes this does not happen at all, and starts like a normal car would. We have checked the battery, and it is ok. We have replaced the cables for both positive and negative and it is still happening. If anyone knows what is going on it would be great! Thank you!

Your starter is wearing out. To verify this remove the starter and take it to a Autozone or O'reilley Auto Parts Store. Have them do a "bench test" on the starter. If it fails replace it with a new lifetime warranty starter. I recommend Autozone because I have replaced the starter in my Mazda B4000 twice now. I only paid for it once in the 14 years I've owned the truck. I once called them from a walmart 25 miles from their store and they delivered it to me on the spot. They even waited for me to remove the old one for the core.
