2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 check engine light on, but shows no codes!?!?

Ok, so like I said, 00 Cherokee 4.0 131k. I've had the light come go on and off over the past 8 years for various things... gas cap, cyl misfire, multi cyl misfire. Every time, I've taken care of the problem. The light has been out a long time. But it came on again today. I took it to Autozone and borrowed the scanner, but guess what... NO CODES? Ok my next thought is fluids, everything is fine, oil is well under it's 3000 miles (I don't think the Jeep even has the "change oil" feature). So what do I do, disconnect the batter for a few minutes? Any suggestions would be fantastic, especially since I put a for sale sign on it today! I think my Jeep is trying to tell me it doesn't want to be sold....
 
it could be your oxygen censer i think but im not sure that what was wrong with my 00 wrangler it had the light coming on but nothing else and then it would go off then stayed on no running problems tho put a new censer and it was fine
